The museum tells the story of the transformation of cocoa into chocolate, from the Maya and the Spanish conquistadors to the chocolate connoisseurs of today. As you walk through the different exhibition rooms, you can learn the history of this precious commodity, from its origins to its transformation as a finished product. Samples of hand made chocolates can be tasted during the visit and you can watch a demonstration given by the master chocolate-maker. Visitors are free to wander around the museum on their own or accompanied by a guide. A chocolate hunt gives children the chance to discover the museum. This museum opened March 22, 2004.
