From collectors
Kuskovo - the unique culture of XVIII century, one of the earliest examples of summer country residences of Russia.
Mansion, built by order Sheremetev, was intended for a magnificent reception, holding crowded theatrical celebrations and festivities, has survived more than 20 unique architectural monuments, as well as the only one in Moscow a French formal garden estate with marble sculptures, ponds and pavilions.
In 1919, the estate became a museum, and in 1938 after the transfer of Russia's only Kuskovo Ceramics Museum was renamed the National Museum of Ceramics and "Kuskovo". Today - it is one of the world's largest holders of ceramics and glass collections of different countries from ancient to modern times.
