At the Carmel Christkindlmarkt, you can create a unique keepsake with the Penny Press. ?? The press has been redesigned this year (2024) to resemble the Market's iconic pyramid.
The market is at the Center for the Performing Arts. Machine is located alongside the north side of the fair, outside of the entrance to the Kulturecke (Hut#19 according to the fair map).
Guests can manually operate the press, which uses rollers to engrave an image of the Market and elongate the penny. This fun and engaging activity allows visitors to take home a personalized memento of their visit to the Carmel Christkindlmarkt!
Cost is 51 cents per design and use your own penny. All have 'Carmel Christkindlmarkt ' on them. Designs are:
1) Bishp with a staff standing facing forward,
2) Priest standing facing forward,
3) Windmill on a tower,
4) 'EST 1917', Date & EST in shoes with flowers around them.
