The Hunley Lab is open to the public on Saturday and Sunday. Just follow the signs that will lead you to the location, as it located in the old navy shipyard and shipping harbor.
One machine with four designs that will imprint either penny or nickel with same four designs.
The machine is located just in front of the admission desk and store. Designs are:
1) "H. L. Hunley Charleston, SC with Confederate flag,
2) "Friends of the Hunley Charleston , SC" with submarine design,
3) "Friends of the Hunley Charleston, SC with SC state flag,
4) "We Will Never Forget September 11, 2001" with picture of the twin towers.
1/12/25: Confirming there is a 4-die machine at the entrance. 51 cents. The machine only rolls pennies - it does not roll nickels. Rolling slightly short on copper cents, cutting off the border. jnm
7/26/26 Machine just inside the entrance before the door into the museum and ticket desk. It rolls great. NEF
