Black Canyon Corner Store

From collectors

Big enough to be overwhelming, still intimate enough to feel the pulse of time, Black Canyon of the Gunnison exposes you to some of the steepest cliffs, oldest rock, and craggiest spires in North America. With two million years to work, the Gunnison River, along with the forces of weathering, has sculpted this vertical wilderness of rock, water, and sky..

At Black Canyon Corner Store you can get guide books and local information. The store also has unique gifts relevant to Western Colorado that you won't find at the National Park's gift shop. This is also the last stop before the park to pick up those items you forgot to bring with you.

You can't miss the Black Canyon Corner Store, it's right on the corner of the road up to the Park and Hwy 50 about 9 miles east out of Montrose. It is only open seasonally, usually the summer months, so call ahead to see if it is indeed open.

Designs are:
1) 'Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park', Tree,
2) 'Black Canyon Corner Store Montrose, Colorado', kokopelli,
3) 'Black Canyon NP', patch,
4) 'I Survived the Million Dollar Highway',

1/05/24: Store was closed when I went by but pressed pennies are still advertised outside. TSB

09.13.26 - Visited store. They were closing for the season the next day. Machine is located at the back of the store. Rolled perfectly. Cost is two quarters and one penny. DJE
