Trains depart year-round from the Santa Fe Depot. Go south on 3rd Street off Hwy 50. Cross the railroad tracks and continue around the curve to the left to the parking lot.
The machine is located in the very far end of the gift shop, back by extra restrooms and water refilling station. It is 51 center per press and you use your own coin. All have Royal Gorge Route Railroad Cañon City, Colorado' on them. Designs are:
1) Cartoon conductor,
2) Train facing left,
3) Railroad logo.
3/28/2026 Machine not working. Coin slot seems block when trying to push money in. Employee said she would report to manager to get it fixed.
08/28/2026: machine is gone. Staff informed me that it was decommissioned in lieu of getting repaired. :(
