From I-25, Exit 156A, dirt road entrance not far from exit. Look for burrors grazing on either side of road. You will see the stampmill building behind the train, and inside, you can see the Corliss steam engine up close. The museum has a very small gift area, and if you want to wander around, they'll ask for admission.
The handcrank machine is on the front porch of the museum building, but I recommend that you take a peek inside. Though the machine is on porch, you must go during open hours, 9-4pm Monday-Saturday. Entrance to the museum is gated when closed.
This is not a PennyCollector machine and does NOT speed roll!!!
Machine 1:
1) Miner w/pickaxe & burro "Colorado Springs Western Museum of Mining & Industry",
2) Landscape view of "Yellow Jacket II Stampmill Western Museum of Mining & Industry Colorado Springs",
3) View of "Corliss Steam Engine 1895 Western Museum of Mining & Industry",
4) Miner panning for gold w/mountains in back "Colorado Springs Western Museum of Mining & Industry".
3/14/2024 The machine is still outside on the porch and rolling very well on copper. (Bob TEC #4915)
10/9/2026: Machine is outside in the elements year round. Very tattered and the coin mechanism is finicky. If not pushing in try rotating the wheel. It seemed to help. Rolling well on coppers. PJD
