On August 13, 1896, at the age of 30, Butch Cassidy and two other outlaws robbed The Bank of Montpelier escaping with $7,142 in gold, silver and currency. The robbery was an in and out job. It was difficult to carry so much gold and silver on horses, so the outlaws decided to hide part of the loot. They drew a treasure map and hid it in a brick. No one knows where they hid that brick!
