The Hakone Ropeway is the name of an aerial lift, as well as its operator. It links between Sounzan and Togendai via Owakudani, all within Hakone in Kanagawa Prefecture. The line is the second of its kind in the nation, after Hashikurasan Ropeway. It makes a part of the sightseeing route between Odawara and Lake Ashi. The Hakone Ropeway's Sounzan and Togendai Stations are situated at elevations surpassing 700 m (2,297 ft.), and Owakudani Station is at an elevation of 1,044 m (3,425 ft.), giving passengers a virtual view from the sky. The changing seasons bring with them many amazing views along each section of the ropeway route.
The machines are located within the gift shop just before the outside viewing platform near the restrooms.
The penny machines supply their own 100% copper blanks and cost ¥200 each (approximately $1.75).
The tokens cost ¥600 each (approximately $5.30).
