12/20/17: The Auto Collection closed it's doors to the public.
The Auto Collection is the world's largest classic car showroom, with more than $25 million worth of inventory. It has more than 250 antique, classic, muscle and historically significant cars displayed on a rotational basis. The automobiles displayed in 125,000 square feet of space provide an excellent insight into the history of the industry and include antique exemplars from the early 20th century, elegant post-war limousines, high-end sports cars from the last decades as well as everything else in between. Most of these vintage cars are also fully operational and available for purchase.
The car collection is located on the fifth floor adjacent to the parking garage.
Hours of operation are 10:00 am to 6:00 pm daily.
Admission is $11.95 for adults, $8 for seniors 65 and children 6-12. Children 5 and under are free. If you go to the website, click on the free admission tab and print the coupon, the admission is free. However, if you ask kindly, the attendant may let you enter the collection for free to just get the pennies from the machine.
Plenty of free parking.
The penny machine is not located in the gift shop but is located inside the car collection straight back on the center aisle, then to the left. The token machine is located next to the penny machine.
Penny machine designs all have a beaded border:
1. (H) The Auto Collection logo with 'The Auto Collection'.
2. (H) Mercedes Benz 300SL with '1954 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing'.
3. (H) Chevrolet Bel Air with '1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop'..
4. (H) The Las Vegas Welcome sign with 'Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada'.
Four token designs available. Each cost $5.00 or 4 for $15.00. $1.00, $5.00, and $10.00 bills are accepted. Credit cards are accepted for the 4 for $15.00 package only.
Token machine Reverse design for all tokens: Tire with a custom wheel and the Auto Collection logo inside the center.
Obverse designs are:
1. The 'Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada' sign, a club straight above and 3 casino chips below .
2. Chevrolet Camaro with '1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS/RS Convertible'.
3. Mercedes Benz 300SL with '1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing'.
4. Chevrolet Bel Air between palm trees with '1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible'.
