One of New York's largest aquariums, Long Island Aquarium & Exhibition Center (formerly Atlantis Marine World) in Riverhead is open year-round and features over 80 exhibits, including Touch Tanks where visitors get up close and personal with living sea creatures, sleepovers, sea lion shows and more.
With its theme of the lost continent of Atlantis, the sprawling aquarium encompasses exhibits both indoors and outdoors. There's a seal exhibit outside as well as an indoor exhibit of swiftly swimming sharks. Very courageous (or very crazy!) visitors can pay an extra fee to dive down in a cage to observe the sharks as they swim uncomfortably close to the cage.
Machine 1 designs are:
1) Shale swimming down left,
2) Starfish,
3) Seahorse,
4) Octopus.
Machne 2, 2nd floor machine, designs are:
1) Humpback Whale,
2) Dolphin,
3) Tortoise,
4) Seal. (Not Working!)
7/8/2022 2nd floor machine only as three designs in it now. The seal is not there. Also, when we were there it wasn't working; it wouldn't accept coins. No photos showing 12/10/2022.
