From collectors

Malabar sells top quality, certified artisanal ceramics, with a wide range of decorative and utilitarian pieces. They also have reproductions of 19th century earthenware.

Caution: There are two stores on Rua Ferreira Borges with the name Malabar. One sells ceramics and the other (at Rua Ferreira Borges, 150) sells products made from cork. Both stores have the same owner. There is only one penny machine and it's at the ceramics store.

Hours of operation: Monday through Sunday 09.00 (9:00 am) to 20.00 (8:00 pm). No on street parking nearby. Admission: Free admission.

Machine 1 is outside in front of store during business hours. Cost to press: €1.05 each design (€1 coin and a 5 Euro cent coin). Designs all have a beaded border:
1) (H) Coimbra city skyline behind the Ponte de Santa Clara bridge with 'Coimbra'.
2) (V) Barcelos Rooster with 'Portugal'.
3) (V) Our Lady of Fátima (Catholic title for the Virgin Mary) wearing a crown with 'Na Sra De Fatima Portugal'.
4) (H) Center for Studies in Planning, Urbanism and Environmental Law building and University tower with 'Universidade De Coimbra'.
