Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies

Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies in Gatlinburg, TN, is literally teeming with life - over 10,000 exotic sea creatures in 350 individual species. There are more fish in it than there are people in Gatlinburg!

The Penny machine is here. It has 4 designs & each cost 51 cents:
1) Penguins
2) Shark
3) Sea Turtle
4) Sting Ray

Tokens are $5 each or four for $15.

Token Machine 1: Rear has logo with city and state. Designs are;
1) Ray,
2) Octopus,
3) Jellyfish,
4) Sea Turtle.

Token Machine 2: Rear has logo with city and state. Designs are;
1) Penguin,
2) Fish,
3) Sawtooth Ray,
4) Shark

Retired Penny machines:

Retired 1: 1) Octopus, 2) Sea Turtle, 3) Shark, 4) Logo.
Retired 2: 1) Adult and baby Penguins, 2) Shark, 3) Octopus, 4) Sea Turtle.

10/24/2023: Penny machine out of order, staff in gift shop unsure when/if it'll be fixed

7/8/26: you have to purchase a ticket to access the machine inside. The employees would not let me inside just to press a penny.

7/26/26: penny machine was working, but coins came out defective.
