Ascending to 14,410 feet above sea level, Mount Rainier stands as an icon in the Washington landscape. An active volcano, Mount Rainier is the most glaciated peak in the contiguous U.S.A., spawning five major rivers. Subalpine wildflower meadows ring the icy volcano while ancient forest cloaks Mount Rainier’s lower slopes. Wildlife abounds in the park’s ecosystems. Designated as one of the “Great Lodges of the West,” Paradise Inn provides a relaxing retreat in Mount Rainier National Park with miles of hiking trails just outside the door. Their 121 guestrooms, although small by today’s standards and without the modern amenities of televisions, telephones, or Internet, invite guests to imagine a time past when life was simple without the distractions of today’s modern world.
Hours of operation for Gift Shop: May 17th through September 30th, Monday through Sunday 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. Free parking that can fill up fast. Token book for sale in the gift shop for $4.99 plus tax.
