Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

Zoo admission is required to access the machines. Discount coupons are available at the Zoo website and at attraction brochure display racks around Colorado Springs.
There are sixteen coins from four 4-design hand crank machines (#4, 5, 6 & 7). They are scattered around the Zoo. Each penny costs $1.00 (credit card only).

Machine 4: Inside the Primate World exhibit building. On the left after you enter the building:
1) Gorilla,
2) Moose,
3) Orangutan,
4) Prairie Dog

Machine 5: Inside Scutes Family Gallery. On the right after entering the building:
1) Giraffes,
2) Hippos,
3) Tiger,
4) Elephant

Machine 6: Inside the Grizzly Grill:
1) Lion,
2) Bear w/ cub,
3) Wolf,
4) Mountain Lion

Machine 7: Inside the Hippo building, which is part of the Water's Edge: Africa exibit:
1) Warthog,
2) Ringtail Lemur,
3) Penguins,
4) Hippos in water

11/1/2025: I found all four machines on my visit. Machine 5 was out of order on my visit, but the other three machines were working fine.
The giraffe exhibit and main gift shop are under construction, so the machines that were in those locations (5 and 6) have been relocated. All machines are credit card only.
7/25/26 The machine at the Grizzly grill was the only one working. The other 3 all had out of order signs on them.

8/6/26 I tried the machine in the hippo area even though it said out of order; it gave a network connection error. The machine in the primate house was out of order and no lights. The machine in the grizzly grill and gallery were working.

10/31/26: The primate one, the hippo one, and the family gallery one were gone on our visit today (31 Oct 26). Never have seen one at the Grizzly Grill.
